Architects: Vasily Bashkirov, reconstruction project by Renzo Piano.
Address: Moscow, Bolotnaya Embankment, 15k1
The project was carried out in partnership with the Italian company Resstende S.r.l.
The GES-2 building was constructed between 1905 and 1907. The power station was intended to supply electricity to the city’s tram network.
The project for the reconstruction of the historic GES-2 building was undertaken by the Renzo Piano Building Workshop, led by Renzo Piano—the creator of the Pompidou Center in Paris, a laureate of the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize, and an honorary senator of the Italian Republic.
After the reconstruction, GES-2 has become a space for experiments and impressions, a center for creativity and culture, where the energy of creation is generated instead of electrical energy.
The blinds at Project GES-2 were installed by Wellsun in collaboration with the Italian company Resstende.
